Ukrainian agroindustrial complex fears strengthening of Russia's competitiveness on foreign grain markets

KYIV, June 2 /UKRINFORM/. Transit stocks of grain in Ukraine and Russia are rather large and they can influence the prices of a new yield, Agrarian Policy Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk told a briefing in Kyiv.
While answering questions regarding plans for the new yield, he noted that no urgent measures regarding the spring cultures yield were taken by the government. For today, 15 million ha have been sown, the forecasted yield of spring cultures is 46-47 million tons, he said.
The minister informed about actions of his Russian counterpart who proposed to the Russian government to financially stimulate the grain export. Such an initiative is "more threatening for us than the new yield," he emphasized.
