In the season-2008/09, grain export volumes from Russia totaled 23 mln tonnes, in the terms of the export potential of 32 mln tonnes. Due to the growth of carry-over stocks, in 2009/10 MY, the index totals nearly 40 mln tonnes. The dynamics of grain trading indices witness about the growth of the share of the Russian Federation in the general world exports of grain cargoes, declared Oleg Rogachev, the First Deputy General Director of CJSC Rusagrotrans. According to the expert, in 2020-2025 period, Russia will be able to increase own grain exports through the existing transport corridors (the Southern corridor, presented by the ports of the Azov-Black Sea basin, and land border crossings to Azerbaijan and the Central Asia), and develop the new export directions: the Baltic and Far East corridors. According to O.Rogachev, in 2009, agricultural enterprises of Western Siberia faced grain oversupply in the region.
The country needs to found the balanced system of elevator, transport and port capacities in the Far East region for exports of Siberian grains. At the same time, the countries of the Asian-Pacific Region are the main potential consumers of Siberian grains. The First Deputy General Director of CJSC Rusagrotrans also mentioned that the main present sea ports of the Far East region have the potential of construction of cargo terminals, which will be able to provide the general annual exports of nearly 6 mln tonnes of grains to countries of the Asian-Pacific Region
