Russia exports over 4.2 mln tonnes of wheat in 1Q 2010

According to data of the Bank of Russia, during the first quarter of 2010, the foreign trade turnover of Russia totaled 138.1 bln USD (144.2% to the first quarter of 2009), including exports - 92.6 bln USD (161.6%), imports - 45.6 bln USD (118.4%). Export surplus remained positive - 47 bln USD (in the first quarter of 2009 - 18.8 bln USD), declared Russian Federal Service of State Statistics (Rosstat) on May 18. According to the data of Rosstat, in the reporting period of 2010, Russia exported food products and agricultural raw material at the sum of 2342 thsd USD (up 11.6%). During three months of 2010, grain exports from Russia totaled 4714 thsd tonnes, including 4201 thsd tonnes of wheat and meslin (up 12.6% compared to the first quarter of 2009) and 406 thsd tonnes of barley.
