Russian co to launch 7 bln rbl Rostov Reg grain processing plant

Russian agricultural company Don Biotechnologies plans to launch a 6.75 billion ruble grain processing plant to produce amino acids at the end of 2014 in the Rostov Region city of Volgodonsk, a spokesperson for the company said Monday, as cited by RIA Novosti.

In yet another important agreement for BioNitrogen, the Company today announced an exclusive agreement that extends the Patent Cooperation Treaty Application No. PCT/US2009/053547, Modularized System and Method for Urea Production using a Bio-mass Feedstock exclusively to BioNitrogen. The U.S. Patent filing involves a proprietary process for the conversion of biomass into Urea Fertilizer. BioNitrogen's President & CEO, Carlos A. Evonik Board Okays Amino Acid JV

Evonik Industries' board has approved previously announced plans to manufacture the animal feed amino acid L-lysine in Russia. The project, at Volgodonsk, will be established by OOO DonBioTech, a joint venture with the Varshavsky Group (Moscow). The jv will serve predominantly the Russian market. "Russia will become an important market for us, given that demand there for amino acids used in animal feed has experienced healthy growth for years," says Patrik Wohlhauser, board member/consumer, health, and nutrition at Evonik. "The special biotech-based L-lysine, which Evonik markets under the name of Biolys, is benefiting from growth in worldwide meat consumption." The jv will employ Evonik's fermentation technology, which has optimized efficiency as well as raw material and energy consumption levels. The plant will consume wheat procured from Russia's Rostov region. The plant will be built for easy expansion at a future date. Evonik holds a minority stake in DonBioTech.

The oleochemical company Oleon has started up a new manufacturing plant for producing bio propylene glycol (PG) from glycerin in Ertvelde, Belgium. The plant is the first of its type worldwide, leveraging a highly sustainable production process developed and licensed by BASF and jointly realized with Oleon. Major UK Biorefinery Start-Up Delayed Until Q4

The Evonik Executive Board has approved the realization of the project, based in Volgodonsk in Russia's Rostov region. The DonBioTech joint venture will now go ahead with the construction of a Biolys® manufacturing plant in Volgodonsk. The facility is scheduled to go on stream in 2014 with a capacity of around 100,000 metric tons of Biolys®. Evonik establishes joint venture in Russia to produce feed amino acid L-lysine

Evonik Industries and Russian company RusBiotech International have established the joint venture Russkie Biotechnologii for manufacturing L-lysine in Russia by means of a biotechnological process. Vassily Golubev, governor of the Rostov-on-Don region, and Vadim Varshavsky, a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, supported the formation of the joint venture. The purpose of this joint venture, in which Evonik holds a minority shareholding with an option to increase its share significantly, is to produce the feed amino acid L-lysine in Russia.

Russia's grain harvest may amount to 95,000 t in 2011

Gathering of grain crops is going on, therefore the final figure on the volume of the harvest may be higher than the announced 90,000 tonnes, Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov on the TV channel "Rossiya." "The figures are, of course, preliminary. But they have been counted by experts and specialists several times already. Therefore, let's consider that the final figure won't be lower than this one (90,000 tonnes)," Zubkov said.
