Netherlands intends to cooperate with Tatarstan

Netherlands intends to cooperate with Tatarstan--ambassador.

KAZAN, October 5 (Itar-Tass) - The Netherlands intends to cooperate with the Russian constituent republic of Tatarstan in machine-building, cattle breeding, electronics, pharmacology, energy efficiency and other sectors, the country's ambassador to Russia, Ron Keller, said at a meeting with the republic's President Rustam Minnikhanov on Tuesday.

A memorandum of intent between the republic's government and the Dutch company DSM-Eastern Europe was inked at the meeting. The DSM company was the first to have launched cooperation with Tatarstan at its own initiative. It has invested 160 million dollars into the construction of a fodder supplements production plant in the city of Naberezhnyie Chelny, the ambassador said.

The Dutch delegation, currently on a visit in Tatarstan, includes the top managers of 25 key companies in the country's chemical, machine-building, water resources management and environmental businesses.

According to the ambassador, the Dutch delegation selected Tatarstan as a place worth visiting because the republic has created a comfortable and transparent climate for investments. The republic's leadership keeps its promises and its is very easy for us to work with Tatarstan's governmental structures, Keller said.

"The signed memorandum continues and expands active cooperation with the Netherlands," Tatartstan's Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov said.

He said even in the hardest years in the past specialists from the Netherlands worked in Tatarstan with success. Dutch specialists cooperate with the republic's pharmacological plant in the production of new medicines.

DSM, the world's largest manufacturer of nutritional premixes has built Russia's first plant of fodder supplements for livestock farming in Naberezhnyye Chelny.

"It will market its products not only inside Tatarstan, but in the neighboring regions of Russia, too," Khalilov said.
