ASTANA, September 15 (Itar-Tass) -- Kazakhstan's ministry of agriculture hopes for a record-breaking harvest of up to 20 million tons of grain in 2011.
Addressing a Kazakh-German meeting on cooperation in the area of agriculture and food procurements, Yevgeny Aman, the secretary of the Kazakh ministry of agriculture, said this year's harvest is expected to be the richest one in the past 20 years, so his country will be able to export more than 10 million tons.
"According to our estimates, the harvest will considerably exceed 20 million tons, of which eight million tons will be sufficient to meet all domestic demands, including in seeds," he told journalists. "Thus, more than ten million tons will make up the export potential."
