Grain harvest in Russia to exceed level of 100 mln tonnes

According to estimations of Russian Grain Union, in the terms of favorable weather conditions, in 2010, grain production volumes in the Russian Federation will exceed the level of 100 mln tonnes, declared Arcadiy Zlochevsky, the president of Russian Grain Union, on April 27. At the same time, according to conservative forecasts, in 2010, the grain harvest in the Russian Federation will total 95-97 mln tonnes, added he. According to estimations of Russian Grain Union, in the current moment, the areas of perished winter sowings total 1.8 mln ha. At the same time, according to data from regions of Russia, the index totals 2 mln ha. According to the forecast, as of the beginning of the new season (July 1, 2010), the carry-over stocks of grains will total 4 mln tonnes, as opposed to 3.7 mln tonnes on April 1, 2010, declared the head of Russian Grain Union.
As a reminder, according to resulting data, in 2009, grain production in all varieties of agricultural enterprises of Russia totaled 97 mln tonnes in clean weight, including nearly 62 mln tonnes of wheat
